Accessibility Statement

St Fin Corp wants FBAR Reference to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or speech input. This statement sets out what we do, where we fall short, and how to tell us.

Standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is a target rather than a certification: we are not independently audited, and we describe below the specific measures taken and the limitations we know about.

What we have done

• Semantic HTML. Pages use real headings in order, lists, tables with captions and scope attributes, and landmark elements, so assistive technology can convey structure.
• Keyboard access. Every interactive element — navigation, submenus, accordions, the cookie notice, forms and the threshold tool — is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline that we have deliberately not suppressed.
• Skip link. A “Skip to main content” link is the first focusable element on every page.
• Colour contrast. Body text, headings, links and interface elements are chosen to meet or exceed the Level AA contrast ratios, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
• Text scaling and reflow. Type is sized in relative units and the layout reflows to a single column, so the site remains usable when text is enlarged or the window is narrow, without horizontal scrolling.
• Forms with real labels. Every field has a programmatically associated label, hints are linked with aria-describedby, and validation errors are announced rather than shown only in colour.
• Reduced motion. We honour the prefers-reduced-motion setting and there is no autoplaying media, carousel or animation that moves without your action.
• Status messages. Dynamic results, such as the threshold tool’s output and form confirmations, are in live regions so screen readers announce them.
• No time limits. Nothing on the site expires, times out or moves on without you.
• Readable defaults. We use system fonts at a comfortable size and line height, with generous spacing and a constrained line length.
• Works without JavaScript. All content is in the HTML. With scripts disabled you lose the mobile menu toggle, the accordions’ collapse behaviour and the arithmetic tool, but every word remains readable.
• Print stylesheet. Pages print cleanly, without navigation or advertising slots, for readers who prefer paper.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than imply the site is flawless:

• Advertising content. Advertisements are supplied by third-party networks and we do not control their markup, contrast or keyboard behaviour. Some may not meet the standard we apply to our own content. Choosing “essential cookies only” in the cookie notice does not remove advertising, but you can block third-party content in your browser if it causes difficulty.
• Complex tables. Several comparison tables are wide and scroll horizontally on small screens. We have kept them as real tables with row and column headers rather than simplifying them into prose, because the relationships between the cells carry meaning. On a phone, landscape orientation helps.
• External documents. We link to government PDFs and pages whose accessibility is outside our control.
• No formal audit. Our testing is internal: keyboard-only navigation, browser and operating-system screen reader checks, zoom to 200 per cent, and automated contrast and markup validation. It is not a substitute for a professional audit or for testing with a wide range of users.

Adjusting the site to suit you

• Enlarge text with Ctrl and + (Cmd and + on a Mac). The layout is designed to reflow rather than break.
• Use your browser’s reading mode for a stripped-back view of any guide.
• Print or save as PDF to get the content without navigation or advertising slots.
• Navigate by heading with your screen reader — every guide is structured with a logical heading outline and a table of contents.

Telling us about a problem

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know. It helps if you can tell us:

• the page address;
• what you were trying to do;
• what happened instead; and
• the browser, operating system and any assistive technology you were using.

Email info@bsaefiling.firicen.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line, or use our contact form and select the accessibility topic. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days and to say what we will do and by when. Where a fix will take time, we will offer the content in another format on request.

Alternative formats

If you cannot access something on this site, ask us and we will provide the content in a plain-text or large-print form by email, at no charge. We cannot, however, provide advice on your circumstances in any format — that limitation is about the nature of the site, not about accessibility. See our Disclaimer.

Accessibility is checked when pages are reviewed and when the site’s templates change. This statement was last reviewed on 26 September 2026 and is updated when our testing or the known limitations change.
